Beat the Heat with Baby Wipes and Peppermint

Quick Tip to Beat The Heat

The temperatures across the United States has been brutal. I lived in Panama for a year and a half while my husband was in the military. It was the hottest place I have ever been so I can sympathize with those of you who have the heat and the humidity.

This is my little trick that I use when it is really hot out. I used it today at the Farmers Market where I sat for 6 hours and if really helped me cool down. We had a little bit of a breeze which made it that much better.

Baby Wipes and Peppermint Essential Oils

I buy a box of UNSCENTED Baby Wipes and pour about a 1/2 cup of water on top (in my opinion, they are to dry without the extra water). If I know I am going somewhere hot I will take this with me. When I need some relief I take one out and add 1 drop of Peppermint Essential Oil and rub it into wipe.

Rub it all over your arms, legs, neck and back of neck. Stay away from the eyes because the oil can burn your eyes. This is a quick and easy way to get some cooling relief.

*I would not use this on young children unless you have a carrier oil with you that you can dilute it with.

Remember to make sure that you drink LOTS of water. Don't wait until you are thirsty to drink.  Don't let yourself get dehydrated!

  1. Sounds refreshing for me... how about for an infant. Skin irritant?
